With an estimated 10 percent of all deaths in Australia attributed to chronic kidney disease (CKD), preventative health services are becoming an increasing priority. Both CKD and poor access to these preventable services disproportionately affect Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples and people living in regional and remote communities. Sophus Powers Lifestyle Intervention Trial for Patients with Complex Chronic Disease
Sophus has partnered with researchers at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane on an innovative study called U-Decide. This randomized controlled trial is evaluating the feasibility and effectiveness of a technology-assisted lifestyle intervention for patients with kidney and liver disease who have features of metabolic syndrome.

The Sophus team worked closely with the dietitians and researchers at the Princess Alexandra hospital to develop a digital nutrition education program specifically to support patients with complex chronic medical conditions.
